Tamara Schwartz

Social Worker & Psychotherapist (She/Her)
Tamara is a Social Worker who has spent much of her career studying and working in children’s mental health. Her areas of interest include using trauma-informed-practices while working with survivors of family and gender-based violence, as well as supporting youth who have concurrent mental health and substance use concerns.
Tamara is trained and certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT). As a therapist, she uses techniques from several evidenced-informed approaches, such as Dialectical-Behaviour Therapy, NarrativeTherapy and Motivational Interviewing to provide treatment using an anti-oppressive lens.
Tamara graduated with a BSc in Psychology from University of Toronto, pursued her Master’s Degree in Developmental Psychology and Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at U of T, and shortly thereafter completed a second Master’s Degree in Social Work from University of Windsor.
